Q: What building size is the most economical?

A: With all of the options and accessories available in today’s market, we need to customize an estimate for you to give you an accurate price.

Q: What type of poles do you use and how deep do you set them?

A: We advise our customers to use three ply laminated columns set five feet deep on a concrete footing. However, treated poles are still available at a reduced cost. Both carry lifetime warranties.

Q: Tell me about the steel and its warranty used on the exterior of your building.

A: We use two companies for our steel – Fabral and Metal Sales. Both are leaders in the industry and provide excellent written warranties on their steel.

Q: How does a post frame building stand up against snow and wind?

A: Truax Buildings are pre-engineered to meet all state and local codes for wind and snow load.

Q: Do you use screws or nails to attach exterior steel on your buildings?

A: We use color-coated screws to match your building on both roof and side steel.

Q: What is a soffit system and what function does it serve?

A: A soffit system is a ventilated overhang that comes in 12, 24 or 36” increments. It provides your building with proper ventilation to minimize condensation. If aesthetic appearance is important to you, a soffit system is a must.

Q:Do I need a building permit?

A: In most cases you will need a building permit from the county or township where your building is being erected.
